Living in Southern California has its perks - especially when it comes to outdoor activities! Angelenos love to partake in various activities, from surfing to hiking, so there is no wonder that L.A. is one of the most active cities in the country. Here is a list of the most active neighborhoods in L.A. that are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts! 

Topanga

This rustic neighborhood is the perfect escape from the busy city life. Topanga is perfectly located about 15 minutes from the beaches of Malibu and Santa Monica. Nestled in Topanga Canyon, this town offers an abundance of wilderness to explore. Both Topanga State Park and Tuna Canyon Park have various trails that are perfect for hiking or mountain biking. 

Baldwin Hills

While this urban neighborhood might not seem ideal for outdoor activities, it happens to be home to the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation area, a hidden gem that provides residents with gorgeous hiking trails and a fishing lake. You can also climb the 282 steps up to the stunning Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. 

Hollywood Hills

There is no shortage of outdoor activities in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood. The surrounding Santa Monica Mountains offer easy access to a plethora of parks, including Griffith Park, Runyon Canyon, and the Hollywood Reservoir. The Hollywood Sign is only a few steps away!

Los Feliz

This cozy neighborhood is located in the northern part of the Hollywood Hills, so it is also very close to Griffith Park and all the outdoor activities that it offers. Many of the homes in the hills boast gorgeous views of the city, and the neighborhood is extremely walkable. Kids will love the proximity to the LA Zoo!

San Pedro

This small seaside town has various aquatic activities, such as wind surfing, fishing, and surfing. Residents enjoy a simple lifestyle, and can often be seen biking, skating, or rollerblading through town. San Pedro is also located near the Palos Verdes Peninsula, which features many lovely hiking trails.
