  • Best Parks to Hang Out This Summer in L.A.

One of the most summery things to do is grabbing your friends and family for a hangout in the park! Whether you’re looking to throw a picnic, go hiking, or just enjoy the outside - there is a wealth of beautiful parks in Los Angeles. Here are some of the most beautiful ones for you to check out this summer:

El Dorado Nature Center and Regional Park, Long Beach

What you’ll find here is a 105-acre plant and animal sanctuary. El Dorado Nature Center and Regional Park features beautiful dirt trails and paved paths, as well as two lakes, a stream and forested areas. If you’re planning an active outdoor hangout, sports fields, playgrounds, a golf course, and an archery range are at your service.

Lake Balboa

For a lovely day with family, Lake Balboa is your best pick. Here you’ll find a beautiful lake and serene picnic spots. There is also a fitness-centered section of the park, where you can simply have a great workout without any interruptions. And just when you thought the place couldn’t be more perfect – next door you’ll find the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve and the Japanese Garden!

Silver Lake Reservoir

For a lovely day with your four-legged friends, Silver Lake Reservoir features two dog parks, along with tons of entertainment for you, including a basketball court, playground for the kids, and a 2.2-mile trail. It is one of the best places for a big family hangout! The Reservoir is also home to the Meadow – a soft, grassy knoll overlooking the water where visitors can relax and have a nice picnic. Please note that doggies are not allowed in the Meadow.
