Food & Wine magazine's annual L.A. Festival is back! Running August 22 to 26, it's bringing Angelenos some of the biggest names in the culinary industry to venues across the city for power lunches, collaborative dinners and tasting events. At this year's Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival, you'll be able to simple hundreds of wines, fancy bites from L.A.'s best chefs, even a DJ set by Questlove, and more! Here are the three events you don't want to miss:
Kick-Off Dinner at LASA, Wednesday, August 22 6:30-9:30pm. $150 per person
LASA is a restaurant recently named one of Food & Wine's 2018 "restaurants of the year." In addition, Kato's Jon Yao was just named a "Class of 2018 Best New Chef" by the magazine. And together, they bring you the best dishes you can imagine! During the festival's new Kick Off Dinner Series, you'll have a chance to taste Chad Valencia's modern-minded but tradition-honoring Filipino food with Yao's intricate takes on Pan-Asian classics.
Ultimate Bites of L.A., August 23 7-10pm. $175 per person, VIP admission $225 per person
Eggslut's Alvin Cailan and Scopa's Antonia Lofaso are hosting an evening of small plates from L.A. restaurants new and old. Taking place at the intersection of Grand Ave and First St, enjoy bites from Factory Kitchen, the Bazaar by José Andrés, Patina Restaurant Group, Hayden, DAMA, the NoMad, Yarrow and more! Afterwards, you are invited to cast your vote for the title of "Ultimate Bite", which will be featured at Pebble Beach Food & Wine next spring.
Grand Tasting, Aug 25-26 noon-3pm. $175 per person, VIP admission $225 per person
End the festival with a bang! LAFW's signature, Lexus-sponsored closing event is always a big one, and this year, you can get a fantastic culinary experience with more than 25 celebrity chefs serving unlimited small plates and signing cookbooks at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. This is an event with the biggest food and wine selection!
