• Five Horror Movies to Watch

Halloween month is upon us, so it's time to plan a horror movie marathon! Genre of horror always keeps you on your toes. If it is a great horror movie – it will leave you speechless. If it is a bad one – you will laugh about it with your friends and still have a great experience. Here are some of the horror movies that should go on your must-watch list:


The Shining (1980)

Starting with the classics, The Shining is based on Stephen King’s 1977 novel, which guarantees to leave you breathless. You will enter the world of an isolated hotel that has terrifying things in store for the main characters. This movie will definitely shock you with its horrifying imagery and unexpected plot twists. Moreover, who doesn’t love Jack Nicholson! His charming personality takes on a different spin in The Shining. You will not regret the experience!
 

Nightmare on Elm St (1984)

Wes Craven’s masterpiece touches upon the best horror theme of all time – nightmares. Not only it gives the creators flexibility of what kinds of things can happen onscreen, it mesmerizes the audience with the idea that you cannot escape sleep and you are powerless in the dream world. Freddy Krueger, the most legendary villain, brings us the most terrifying deaths and the most horrifying appearance. The movie is also a debut of one of the best actors in show business – Johnny Depp. Nightmare on Elm St is definitely a movie ahead of its time. We strongly recommend it! 

As Above So Below (2014)

This is one of the newer horror movies not to be overlooked. It keeps you on your toes to the very end and shocks you with the grand finale. A group of archeologists decided to explore the Catacombs in Paris to find a secret passage, which lead them to treasure. Things go wrong when they realize that getting out is harder than they expected. A mix of mythology and horror will have your eyes glued to the screen. As Above So Below will blow your mind.
 

It (2017)

With the production of It 2 underway, it’s not a bad idea to watch the first one again! The story 1990 miniseries. In the film, a group of bullied kids band together to destroy a shapeshifting monster, which disguises itself as a clown and preys on the children of Derry, their small Maine town. It stars Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise, as well as Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, and others. 

Midsommar (2019)

From the creator of Hereditary, this horror film is one of the most disturbing ones out there. Following the story of a girl who, while getting over an extremely tragic family-related event, gets invited on a trip to a remote community in Sweden to celebrate the oldest of Swedish rituals called Midsummer. This movie will leave you in chills. Midsommar stars Florence Pugh, Will Poulter, Jack Reynor, and William Jackson Harper.
