Get style tips on how to balance functionality with modern design.

Singer and actor Ricky Martin and his partner, artist Jwan Yosef, laid down roots in Beverly Hills with this incredible home that blends their upscale taste and lifestyle with the all the comforts necessary to raise their two sons. They recently opened up their home to AD, showcasing their impeccable taste in interior design. Here are a few of their best style choices from which to pull some design inspiration.

Even with a wood-burning fireplace and a stunning painting by Wilfredo Lam, this RH Modern chaise lounge is still a focal point of the room, matching so well with both the sleek, modern lines of the space and the abstract colors in the painting above. Although a chaise lounge may feel more bachelor pad than family home, RH Modern provides plenty of other exquisite furniture options just as stunning. One thing’s for sure: For this space, the chaise lounge is absolutely fabulous and seems like a perfect place for some afternoon reading on those rare, rainy Beverly Hills days.

For a formal dining room, this space sure has tons of vibe. With gorgeous greenery coming through the floor-to-ceiling windows and the organic Hans Wegner chairs, the room just feels wonderful even from the picture. With this plush shag rug by Woven tying in all of the hues from the wood beams, the space is given an extra layer of comfort and luxuriousness. Plus, going for a dark color shag is a practical choice for any home with two kids.

Speaking of kids, no design was skimped in Matteo and Valentino’s room. It is the perfect culmination of stylish and functional. With a fun hanging chair by Pier 1 Imports, a youthful bunk bed by RH Teen, plus all of the stuffed animals and toys you would expect, this bedroom is fabulous from every angle.

With rustic wood dressers, modern bedside lamps and an intriguing piece of art by Kerry Skarbakka above the bed, this master suite mixes comfort with a modern tastefulness.

The final room to highlight in the home isn’t really a room at all, but rather this beautiful outdoor area. With furniture by Teak Warehouse and cushions by Sunbrella this backyard feels more like a trendy Balinese hotel than a Beverly Hills oasis. If looking for the perfect way to transform an outdoor area into the ultimate staycation destination, then this patio is serving up all the inspiration needed.
