  • Best Indian Restaurant in LA

One of the best aspects of living in Los Angeles is its wide variety of cultural restaurants and cuisine. Going out for dinner has never been more exciting and new. The city offers you food for every mood – sushi & seafood, tacos, salad bars, or even avocado restaurants! But today we’re going to talk about Indian food. Indian food is famous for its heavy use of herbs and spices. If you’re in the mood to spice things up a bit, here’s the list of LA’s best Indian restaurants:

BADMAASH, 108 W 2ND ST #104, LOS ANGELES, CA 90012

DTLA’s modern Indian restaurant, with a father and sons team of chef Pawan, Arjun, and Nakul Mahendro, offers you such addicting dishes as Punjabi Fish Fry – crunchy papri chaat chips served with masala-flavored potato and chickpeas, yogurt and tamarind and mint chutneys; or fried samosas – traditional or butter chicken. Meat eaters will love their lamb burger or spiced mango pork belly. As you can see, Badmaash brings you a great menu, and as for drink, great selection of wines is also available.

SAMOSA HOUSE, 11510 W WASHINGTON BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA 90066

Samosa House started out as an Indian market in Culver City and grew into an amazing restaurant in Silver Lake. For vegeterians, this place’s menu has a few meat-free dishes with still lots of flavor. Samosas in the house are large and fried, but we recommend getting a combo platter: three sides with rice, bread and raita or soup. Mango lassi is your best bet for drinks.

EAST INDIA GRILL, 345 N LA BREA AVE, LOS ANGELES, CA 90036

Since 1986, the La Brea restaurant has been serving traditional Indian cuisine with homemade spices, offering lunch and dinner dishes like tandoori plates and mango ribs. It’s best to start with curried mussels or paneer tikka followed by tandoori and curry combos, a large selection of naan, and a scoop of mango ice cream. Come in and taste these heavenly meals!

INDIA’S OVEN, 11645 WILSHIRE BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA 90025

India’s Oven is located on the second floor of an office building, where Chef Kamal Singh cooks up comfort food in the form of paneer tikka, samosas, lamb shahi korma, reshmi kabab and more, along with traditional desserts like gulab jamun and Indian rice pudding.

ELECTRIC KARMA, 8222 W 3RD ST, LOS ANGELES, CA 90048

Electric Karma is considered one of the most romantic Indian restaurants. This fabulous eatery of WeHo serves Punjabi cuisine in a great setting with flickering candles, garden umbrellas and lanterns that set the mood. At night you can watch Bollywood films that are projected above the main dining room. Start with appetizers that include traditional vegetarian samosas seasoned with tamarind and sweet tomato chutney, sambar soup and cheese naan with mango chutney, followed up by palak paneer with tofu, Chicken Frankie and masala dosa. Bon Appetite!
