TV & Film Awards Season 2018

It’s that time of the year when the most powerful people in the film industry gather together to celebrate tremendous talent, welcome the rising stars, and, overall, honor film and television. This year’s awards season kicked off with the Golden Globes on January 7, which was one of the most awaited award ceremonies of the year. All the A-listers, including Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg, Susan Sarandon, Oprah Winfrey, and Tom Hanks, were waiting to hear their name after “and the Golden Globe goes to”.

In addition, as a part of Hollywood’s anti-sexual harrassment movement, Time’s Up, the Golden Globes red carpet fashion acquired darker shades: all guests were dressed in reserved, yet exquisite black gowns and tuxedos to show their support for the issue.

Living in the entertainment capital of the world, we can’t help but closely follow the awards season, as it is an exciting time for all! Therefore, we’ve prepared a list of upcoming award shows for you, of course, leading up to the Oscars:

• 23rd Annual Critics Choice awards on January 11, 2018.
• 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 21, 2018.
• Independent Spirit Awards on March 3, 2018.
• 90th Academy Awards on March 4, 2018.

And if you haven’t yet, catch up on the movies getting the most awards buzz this year! It was a good start for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, so it definitely is a must-watch. The movie won the Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Actress – Drama, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor – Drama. Other amazing films worth watching are: Lady Bird, Darkest Hour, The Shape of Water, The Disaster Artist, and I, Tonya.
