Labor Day weekend in L.A.

Oh no, it’s the end of the summer already. But don’t worry – the most beautiful season is almost here! That’s right, the fall. And even though summer is almost over, lucky us, Angelenos, don’t have to fear – the sunshine is not going anywhere. Plus, you’ll still find all of the events that made the summer so great! Plan your three-day weekend accordingly and spend some time outdoors. Whether you’re looking to spend some time on the city’s best beaches or at a fair, you’ll find plenty to do in L.A. during this Labor Day weekend:

Cinecon Classic Film Festival

This lesser-known film festival is celebrating 53 years of showing classic film fare and selling top movie memorabilia in the heart of Hollywood this Labor Day weekend. All you film buffs will enjoy a five-day program of rare films shown at the Egyptian Theatre – from a Buster Keaton classic to a salute to Universal B-pictures from the ’40s. The event is running from Thursday, August 31, to Monday, September 4. Buy your tickets here.

TDR’s Annual Labor Day Pool Party

Celebrate the end of summer with 500 of your newest friends at this Labor Day pool party. Matchmaking service Three Day Rule is taking over the pool at the Viceroy Santa Monica for a party featuring the best DJs, BBQ, discounted Svedka cocktails, Jell-O shots, pool floats and more. Buy your tickets here.

Dapper Day at LACMA

Like the biannual Disneyland meet-ups, attendees of Dapper Day at LACMA are encouraged to dress up sophisticated. This year, Dapper Day is celebrating the Chagall: Fantasies for the Stage exhibition with a museum and Latin Sounds meet-up, plus a screening of The Red Shoes. Don’t miss this Saturday’s fabulous long weekend event. Buy your tickets here.

L.A. County Fair

Running since 1921, L.A. County Fair was first staged as an agricultural fair. Now it features modern acrobats, wine tastings, exhibitions and concerts. Come by! The event starts running this weekend and all the way until Sunday, September 24. Buy your tickets here.

Fiesta Hermosa

Drive up to Hermosa Beach and experience their long weekend arts festival, sample the fine foods and listen to the music. Fiesta Hermosa runs through the weekend – for more information, visit the event’s website.
