Best comedy movies to watch this weekend

No doubt, you have spent your Independence Day Weekend having a blast with your friends on the beach or throwing a backyard BBQ party and, of course, watching spectacular fireworks. What you might want for this weekend is to stay home and relax. After all, having no plans can be a great plan! It’s time to stock up on snacks and choose a great movie to watch. Comedy is a go-to genre when you want to unwind. Here is the list of comedies we recommend for you:

Naked Gun (1988)

You’re in for an hour and a half of uncontrollable laughter! Watch an incompetent police detective Frank Drebin foil an attempt to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II. Starring the brilliant Leslie Nielsen, Naked Gun is one of the best comedies of all time. Hilarious dialogues and situations, the absudity of the plot adds to the experience even more. You won’t regret it!

The Mask (1994)

Jim Carrey is one of the veterans of comedy, and this is one of his earlier films. This movie also gave Cameron Diaz her debut role as Tina Carlyle. Here she is only twenty two years old! Settle in for the bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss transforming into the Norse god of darkness and mischief. Carrey’s acting style couldn’t be more perfect for this role.

The Pink Panther (2006)

This remake of Blake Edwards’ 1963 comedy film, is highly recommended for a night in. Steve Martin wonderfully portrays Inspector Clouseau, who must solve a murder of a famous soccer coach. You will also see two other great actors alongside Martin – Jean Reno and Kevin Kline. Funny, charming, and absurd at times, this movie will cheer you up and give you energy!

The Hangover (2009)

Who doesn’t love the Hangover? The theme of this movie might be relevant after the crazy holiday weekend. Three buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas with no recollection of last night’s events. Zack Galifiarnakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms – the trio we all know and love. Follow their adventures, even though you may know them by heart. This one is worthy of rewatching!

Rough Night (2017)

Some of you might not be that tired – in that case, head to the movie theater! Rough Night is one of the best comedies of this year and definitely worth watching. Settle in with popcorn and soda and watch Scarlett Johansson and her girlfriends embark on a crazy ride, which starts simply as a bachelorette party, and turns into a crime scene. This brilliant female cast will make you laugh harder than ever!
