Located adjacent to one another on the Pacific coast south of Santa Monica, Venice and Marina Del Rey are two of L.A.'s popular waterfront communities. Both have a great location with beaches and local amenities, plus easy access to freeways, LAX, and the rest of the Los Angeles Westside.

Venice and Marina Del Rey boast a great range of residential living options. Both areas have a number of extremely popular newer condo buildings -- Latitude 33 and Dogtown Station in Venice, Azzurra and The Cove in Marina Del Rey -- and both also have great neighborhoods full of single-family homes. The Venice Canals neighborhood even offer single-family residences right on Venice's peaceful manmade canals, in every architectural style from ultra-modern to traditional cottages, and with small private dock access right in your own front yard.
Home prices in Venice and Marina Del Rey cover a wide range. Smaller homes located outside of the most desirable neighborhoods can be found for as little as $500,000, while the majority of homes fall in the $1-2 million range. Properties located adjacent to the beach on Ocean Front or Pacific or close to the marina itself are usually priced from $3 to 5 million.
Condos in the area start at around $350,000 and can go up to $2 million or more for large units or penthouses in the newest and most popular buildings.
More About Venice and Marina Del Rey
Venice is one of L.A.'s most bohemian and artistic communities. The area has a terrific youthful vibe, is full of colorful buildings and homes, street art, and murals, and is host to a huge range of creative outlets ranging from high-end art galleries to tattoo parlors. The trendy Abbot Kinney area has tons of shopping and outdoor dining, galleries, night spots and more. Venice Beach offers sidewalk artists, bike rentals, loads of outdoor activities, plus the famed Muscle Beach and even a skate park. Both areas have plenty of options for outdoor activities, including parks like Linnie Canal in Venice and Burton Chace Park in the Marina, plus bike, boat, motorcycle and sailboat rentals, sportfishing charters and more.
Marina Del Rey boasts one of the largest small boat harbors in the country, with 19 marinas holding over 5,000 boats. The marina area itself is also home to Fisherman's Village, a reproduction of an old-fashioned East Coast waterfront village complete with lighthouse, and a great destination for dining, fishing, kayak or jet ski rentals, and outdoor concerts.
