About the Sunset Strip
Sunset Boulevard itself is home to some of L.A.'s most famous night spots and live music venues -- Key Club, The Roxy, The Rainbow, and House of Blues are all located right on the Strip. The area is also full of fanastic restaurants like Boa Steakhouse, Katana, La Boheme, and plenty of popular cafes, pubs, sushi, and coffee houses. Other highlights include accomodations like the Standard Hotel and the Sunset Marquis, both of which are highly-rated boutique hotels as well as popular local hot spots.
Homes in the Sunset Strip / Hollywood Hills West area cover a wide array of styles and prices. The area features one of L.A.'s highest concentrations of contemporary and modern architecture, and a number of great condominium buildings. The Sierra Towers building on Doheny Road boasts a number of celebrity residents, and is one of the only true high-rise residences in the immediate area. Single family homes in the Sunset Strip generally range from about $1.5 million to $10 million. The Sunset Plaza area, popular for its convenient location close to plenty of shopping and dining, features mostly homes under $5 million. The area known as The Bird Streets -- Blue Jay Way, Oriole Drive, Skylark, Thrasher, etc -- above Sunset Blvd boasts some amazing viewhomes and some of the city's most stunning contemporary architectural properties.
