Improve Your Home's Energy Flow
|
| |
If you fail to create a positive energy
(chi) flow through your house, you might feel stuck in a rut. Fortunately,
it’s easy to liven things up through some simple feng shui techniques. |
 |
 |
-
Chi should enter your house through the front door, circulate
through interior rooms, and then exit out back doors and windows.
If this flow is somehow blocked, it can cause frustrations in
other parts of your life.
-
Chi flows along the same paths that people use. If you can
walk freely through your house, the chi should flow freely as
well. The following obstructions, however could pose problems:
|
| |
- Cracks in cement (fill them in).
- Uneven paving stones (reset them).
- Overhanging bushes or tree branches (trim
them).
- Bad lighting (brighten it).
- Unstable steps (fix or replace them).
- Loose belongings (put them away).
-
Also, anything ugly can obstruct chi. Dead plants or garbage,
for instance, should be promptly removed.
-
Your front door, also known as the “Mouth of Chi,”
is the key to allowing positive energy in to your home, so it
should always be clean, beautiful, and well lighted. It should
also be used regularly to keep the energy fresh.
-
If you wish to protect your home from bustling street noise,
however, you should hang some wind chimes by the front door
to slow down any negative energy.
-
The entry to your home should be calm and welcoming, so it’s
a good idea to place pretty objects nearby, such as:
|
| |
-
Chi flows downward, like water, so it’s best not to place
any furnishings that might obstruct this flow at the bottom
of a stairway, otherwise the space will feel cramped.
-
If a stairway climbs straight from your foyer to an upper
level, the chi might flow back down the stairs and out of the
house, so it’s best to place a basket or a chandelier
at the bottom of the stairs to stem the flow. A light at the
top of the stairs will also help attract chi.

Hallways are the arteries of your home. Keep them clean, open,
and free for the best possible chi.

If furniture or clutter is blocking your hallways, you may
feel disconnected from certain areas of your life, depending
upon which areas of the ba gua are affected.
- If a hallway leads straight from your front door to the back,
your chi may escape from the house without circulating through
it. The best way to prevent that is to hang crystal balls along
the way to slow the energy down and allow it to spread out.
