Westwood Village’s many shops, restaurants, and movie theaters, as well as the sporting and cultural events held on campus. This college town has a healthy nightlife that’s supported by plenty of twenty-something’s. This explains the dense population of big-screen movie theaters here. In fact, many feature films make their star-studded debut here.
In the northern portion of Westwood are sitcom-built homes along winding, eucalyptus-lined streets, many on cul-de-sacs. With this exception, West wood is surrounded by affluence. The Bel Air Country Club lies just to the north, the Los Angeles Country Club to the east, and the posh outdoor shopping mall, Century City Center, to the south. Housing prices are on par with Santa Monica, but ease up a bit as you move farther away from campus, especially going south toward the 10 Santa Monica Freeway. Boundaries run North along Sunset Boulevard; East along Beverly Glen Boulevard; South along Santa Monica Boulevard; and West along the 405 Freeway. Public school education is run by the LA Unified School District, 333 South Beaudry Avenue, LA, CA 90017; 213-241-1000; www.lausd.k12.ca.us
